Why we play

The gap between
enrolled and
graduated is
often four figures.

Most students who leave Winston-Salem State before finishing do not leave because of grades. They leave because of a balance — a housing deposit, a lab fee, a semester that came up short.

The Atlanta Chapter exists to close that distance for students from our metro area. Every dollar this tournament raises goes into chapter scholarships awarded directly to WSSU students. You play eighteen holes. Someone finishes a degree.

Questions

Before you tee off

Do I need to be a WSSU alum to play?

No. The tournament is open to everyone. Bring colleagues, clients, neighbors, and rival alumni. The only requirement is a willingness to help a Ram graduate.

I don't have a foursome. Can I still register?

Yes. Register as an individual at $150 and we will place you with a group. Note any pairing request in the registration form and we will do our best to honor it.

What's included in the entry fee?

Green fees, cart, range access, breakfast, lunch, a gift bag, and entry into the team competition. Mulligans, raffle tickets, and contest entries are sold separately at check-in.

What is the format?

Four-person scramble with a 10:00 AM shotgun start. Every player tees off, the team selects the best ball, and everyone plays from that spot. It keeps the pace moving and makes the day fun for new golfers.

Is there a dress code?

Mirror Lake requires standard golf attire: collared shirt, no denim, and soft-spike or spikeless golf shoes. Chapter gear is encouraged.

Can I rent clubs?

Mirror Lake offers rental sets on a limited basis. Call the pro shop at 770-459-5599 ahead of the tournament to reserve a set.

When is the sponsor logo deadline?

Monday, March 15, 2027. Signs go to the printer that week, so artwork received after that date may not appear on course. Send high-resolution PNG or vector files to [email protected].

Is my sponsorship or registration tax deductible?

Contact the chapter at [email protected] for a receipt and details on the deductible portion of your contribution. We are happy to provide documentation for your records.

What happens if it rains?

The tournament plays through light rain. If the course closes for weather, we will announce a rain date by email and on the chapter's social channels. Registration transfers to the new date.

What is the Day Party?

A separate chapter celebration included in several sponsorship levels. The date is announced separately. Sponsors at Platinum, Red, Black, and White levels receive Day Party access as listed on the scorecard above.
