Dear Atlanta Chapter of WSSUNAA Members and Supporters,

It is an honor to serve as President of the Atlanta Chapter of the WSSUNAA again for the 2026-2028 term.

As we begin this new term, I am proud of what we accomplished together during the previous term. We exceeded our membership goal, growing to 78 paid members in our 2024-2025 and maintaining 77 members in 2025-2026. Through the generosity of our members, sponsors, and supporters, we raised more than $25,000 in scholarship funds to help students pursue their educational goals at Winston-Salem State University.

Building on that momentum, our focus for 2026-2028 is clear:
• Expand and strengthen alumni engagement through networking opportunities, chapter activities, and meaningful volunteer service.
• Launch the Alumni Spotlight Program to recognize outstanding alumni and celebrate their professional, community, and personal achievements.
• Establish the Atlanta Chapter Alumni Business Directory to support alumni-owned businesses and foster professional connections throughout our network.
• Increase scholarship support through strategic fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships, and signature events that directly benefit students.
• Enhance our community impact by partnering with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations that align with our commitment to service.
• Strengthen student recruitment and mentorship efforts by connecting prospective and current students with alumni who can provide guidance, encouragement, and support.

Our chapter’s success has always been driven by dedicated members who believe in the power of giving back. Together, we will continue creating opportunities for students, strengthening alumni connections, and advancing the mission of WSSU.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our chapter. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we move forward with purpose, service, and pride.

"Linked Together in Unity. Serving Together with Purpose."

Sincerely,
Chandra Southern
President Atlanta Chapter of WSSUNAA
Class of 1994
